Remove any excess foliage. The large leaves drink a lot of water, which can prevent water from reaching the blooms.
Treat water with a floral preservative if available. Hydrangeas don’t do well in a metal vase or pail.
Cut stems at least 1” (2.5cm) from bottom at an angle.
To maintain the hydrangea, occasionally spray the petals with water. Change the water in the vase every day.
